Earthside Birth is located on the unceded territory of the Lkwungen People, also known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations communities. We are a full scope midwifery practice with four IBCLC on staff, and complimentary therapists including pelvic floor physiotherapy and acupuncture. Our beautiful clinic is located in West Bay Esquimalt; the office has natural light, ocean views and two comfortable clinic rooms. We currently work in two teams of full-scope midwives, and a postpartum only focused team. We regularly hold classes and events to build connection within our community, striving to provide the best care and experience we can to our clients. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and dedicate clinic space for clients from underserved populations. Our experienced MOA and strong administrative framework supports the smooth running of our clinic. We have collegial interprofessional relationships and a long waitlist of clients! Electronic clinic charting is hosted on OSCAR, and Victoria General Hospital uses Powerchart.

Team of 4

We are seeking a midwife to cover holidays on our team of four throughout July and August. Call shifts are 24 hours long, and each midwife does one clinic day a week (you can enjoy your lunch breaks walking the Songhees walkway just steps from our door connected to the marina! Our caseload is 16-20 EDDs per month.

Team of 2

We are seeking a registered midwife to cover holidays on our team of two in July, August, and September. Currently, our team of two does a week on/week off schedule with one clinic day each per week. Call shifts are negotiable depending on your availability and requested caseload. Our usual caseload is 6-8 EDDs per month for a team of two.

You are a Registered Midwife in good standing, with a commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork. You have a passion for working with diverse populations, and your communication is clear and professional. You have strong interprofessional relationships and are comfortable with both home and hospital birth.
